How to create a bootable LiveCD?

Prior to encrypt the system partition, it is strongly recommended to create a bootable Windows CD/DVD disk (LiveCD) with GiliSoft Full Disk Encryption. That will allow you to gain access to data in case of any emergency (being unable to boot the system), and also allows for partition open and decryption operations to be performed.

Get the LiveCD image file from support@gilisoft.com
Burn it into a CD/DVD.

How to encrypt disk(s) on your computer?

Choose the system drive and other drives you want to encrypt in the 'Local disks' window.
Click 'Encrypt' button and set a password for your computer.
The encryption process will spend a few hours, please be patient.

How to decrypt disk(s) on your computer?

Choose the drives that you want to decrypt in the 'Local disks' window.
Click 'Decrypt' button and input the correct password.
The decryption process perhaps will spend a few hours, please be patient.

How to encrypt USB disk(s)?

Choose the drive that you want to encrypt in the 'Removable disks' window.
Click 'Encrypt' button and set a password.
The encryption process perhaps will spend a few hours ,please be patient.

How to view the content of the encrypted USB disk(s)?

Insert your encrypted USB disk and click 'Refresh' button in the 'Removable disks' window.
Click 'Mount' button and enter the correct password of your USB drive.
Now, you can access this drive in explorer of Windows.

How to decrypt USB disk(s)?

Insert your encrypted USB disk and click 'Refresh' button in the 'Removable disks' window.
Click 'Mount' button and enter the correct password of your USB drive.
Click 'Decrypt' button to decrypt this USB disk.

How to gain access to data in case of any emergency (being unable to boot the system)?

Set CDROM as the first default boot device in BIOS settings.
Insert the LiveCD into CDROM and boot from it.
Run GiliSoft Full Disk Encryption on desktop of LiveCD.
Mount or decrypt the encrypted disk to solve your system problem.

How to start my computer after encrypting its disk?

Step 1: There is a prompt -"If there is no password,simply press ENTER. Otherwise type in the password and then press ENTER." when your start your computer.

Step 2: If you did not encrypt any system drive ,please press ENTER. Otherwise type in the password and then press ENTER." when your start your computer.

How to encrypt my computer in multi-system environment?

Encrypt every disk on your computer.

How to change the password of local disk on my computer?

As you know,the password of local disks is the same for one computer. If you want to change password,the encryption portion of encryption disk must be 100% .

When the 'Password' in Local disk window is enabled,you can change it.

When the password is changed, the password on other system (multi-system environment) also changed at the same time.

How to change the password of the encrypted USB drive?

Insert it on the USB port of your computer and click Refresh button on Removable window.
Click mount button to mount it.
If the disk's encryption portion is 100%,you can click Password button to change it's password.

How to access the encrypted USB stick without entering password each time?

You can let Full Disk Encryption remember your encrypted USB stick, then you don't have to insert password for USB stick every time you want to mount it.

Click "Advanced Settings" to add password to list.
Remember to set your password to lock "Advanced Settings" so nobody can change your settings.
