Speed Up Internet Explorer with RAMDisk
This guide keeps the original Internet Explorer cache workflow: create a RAM disk, move the browser cache folder into it, and reduce repeated disk writes. The approach is old-school, but it still explains the classic browser-cache-on-RAM technique clearly.
Step 1: Download and install GiliSoft RAMDisk on your Windows PC.
Step 2: Create a RAM disk with enough capacity for temporary browser files. Make sure the cache size you plan to use is smaller than the RAM disk size you create.
Step 3: Open Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options > General, and in the Browsing History section click Settings. Set the disk space size, then click Move Folder and relocate the cache folder to the RAM disk.
Why This Workflow Works
Internet Explorer writes cache data to disk repeatedly. Moving that temporary browser cache to RAM can reduce disk activity and make cache access feel faster, especially on older systems where browser responsiveness was tied closely to storage speed.
