Choose a task to capture your Mac screen, app window, camera, or audio, then control and review the saved session. The tutorials below use the Mac interface, including its System Audio controls, macOS permissions, and File list.
Prepare the app or material to show, keep the Mac powered and awake for the session, and leave enough storage for the recording. Use this complete walkthrough or jump to an individual task above.
Open GiliSoft Screen Recorder on Mac and choose Full Screen, Custom Area, or App Window. Select the intended display, region, or application. If macOS requests screen access, complete the permission prompt before continuing.
Use Full Screen or Custom Area for a screen capture, App Window for one app, and macOS permissions if a source is unavailable.
Enable System Audio for Mac playback and the intended Microphone for narration. Add the webcam when needed, review video quality and frame rate, and keep unrelated windows outside the capture. Make a short test with every required source.
Follow System Audio and Microphone, webcam setup, and General settings for those controls. Use headphones when the microphone is picking up speaker playback.
Select REC and confirm the recording timer advances. Use the pause and resume controls for a break, then stop normally when finished. Review any active Auto Stop or Auto Split rule before a longer session.

Let saving finish, open File list, and play the recording. Check the screen, required sound, camera, duration, and ending. Use the folder control to reveal the saved file in Finder and keep the original before making delivery copies.
Follow Find, Play, and Manage Recorded Files. Check every output segment when splitting was enabled, not only the first file.
In the main workspace, choose Full Screen when the session moves across the display, or Custom Area when only a defined region is needed. Use the mode selector to review the current choice.
Select the intended screen or region through the offered capture selection. Arrange the material inside that boundary and keep unrelated windows or notifications outside it.
Enable the needed sound and camera, select REC, and make a short capture. Stop and replay the saved file to confirm the right display or area was recorded and the text is readable.

Open the menus or dialogs required by the demonstration and choose the sound or webcam sources. Confirm that the intended content belongs to the selected capture rather than assuming every separate pop-up is included.
Make a short recording of the actual action and replay it. Use Custom Area or Full Screen instead when the demonstration needs several windows that a single-window capture does not cover.
Choose Camera from the main workspace. Select the intended device in the Camera field and check its preview. Allow macOS Camera permission if requested.
Set System Audio and Microphone for the required sources. The pictured Camera screen has System Audio On and Microphone Off; turn on and select the microphone when narration is required.
Select REC, stop normally, and review the saved camera image and sound. If the session needs screen content with a presenter, use the screen-plus-webcam workflow instead.
Select Audio Only in the main workspace. The panel switches to an audio capture task rather than recording an unnecessary screen video.
Use the sound control for System Audio, microphone, or the available combination needed by the session. Confirm the actual source is playing or the microphone is selected, and review the audio format in Settings > General.
Start with REC, stop normally, then open the completed recording and listen to every required source. The illustrated General settings show MP3 audio output.
From the Apple menu, open System Settings and find Privacy & Security. Use the settings names shown by your macOS version.

Play the expected Mac sound while speaking and capture a short sample. Listen to the saved result for missing voice, missing system sound, echo, and levels. Use headphones when speaker playback is entering the microphone.

Choose Full Screen, Custom Area, or App Window for the session. Do not switch to Camera mode when the required result is screen content plus a presenter.
Use the camera control shown as Off in the screen recording panel and choose the intended camera. Review Camera permission if the source remains unavailable.
Arrange the presenter view so it does not cover important screen details, then test a short recording with the real audio sources. Review the On Webcam Mirror setting when the desired camera orientation needs adjustment.

Use the gear control to open Settings and select General. Review Video format, Video quality, Video framerate, and Audio format.
The pictured configuration uses MP4 video, HD Quality, 25 fps, and MP3 audio. Review the available choices for the installed version and balance readable text, motion, performance, and recording size.
Capture the busiest screen action with the required sound and webcam. Check the saved file for clarity, smoothness, audio, and size before starting a longer session.
Use the annotation control in the lower recording toolbar to display the floating drawing tools. Prepare a short test before the full presentation.
Choose the available pen, text, arrow, line, or shape tool and mark the current step. Keep callouts away from small labels and controls the viewer needs to read.
Use undo, erase, or clear when annotations are no longer needed, and return to pointer interaction as appropriate. Check the saved sample to verify the callouts appear at the right time.
Review Show cursor, Highlight clicks, and Add click effect. These are separate choices in the illustrated Mac settings.
Keep the pointer visible when viewers need to follow controls, and use click emphasis only when it helps explain the action. Review the selected state before closing Settings.
Make a short capture and replay it at the intended viewing size. Confirm the cursor and click effects remain visible without covering important text.
Review Start/Stop Recording, Pause/Resume Recording, On/Off Webcam, and Screenshot. The illustration shows Command+1, Command+2, Command+3, and Command+4 as examples.
Use the actual configured shortcuts during a brief recording. Check that another app does not consume the same keys, and confirm start, pause, resume, or camera behavior as needed.
Use the configured Screenshot shortcut and locate the resulting image through the workflow offered by the recorder. Check its contents and save location rather than assuming it shares every video setting.
In Settings, review the Watermark section. The settings screenshot shows Text watermark, Image watermark, and None.
Choose text or image watermark and complete the content and appearance controls offered by that selection. Keep the mark away from captions and important interface details. Choose None when the capture should not add a watermark.
Return to the capture, make a short recording, and check the mark in the saved file. Changing the current capture settings does not rewrite a recording already saved.
Review the target and sources, then select REC. Confirm the timer advances so the session is actually recording.
Use the pause/resume control or the configured Pause/Resume Recording shortcut. Test the behavior before the full take when the session needs breaks.
Use the stop control or configured Start/Stop shortcut. Allow the output to finish saving, then open File list and review the completed recording before sharing or disconnecting storage.
Open Auto Stop from the lower recording controls and enable Stop recording automatically.
Set Recording time in seconds or the available File size condition in MB. Review the Recording Complete action instead of leaving an unwanted action selected.
Select Only this time or Always as intended, confirm with OK, and make a brief test. Verify that capture ends at the selected rule and the saved file is complete.
Open Auto Split and enable Auto split the recording file. This creates separate files during an ongoing session rather than ending the capture.
Set the recording-time threshold in seconds or the file-size threshold in MB. Review Only this time or Always, then confirm with OK.
Keep the Mac awake and powered, capture long enough to reach the test threshold, then stop normally. Open every generated file and review their order and boundaries before using the rule for an important session.
Use the list control in the lower recording toolbar. Compare Name, Duration, Size, and Date & Time to find the intended recording.
Select the recording and use the play control. Check the beginning, middle, ending, required sound, and camera. Review all segments when Auto Split was enabled.
Use the folder control for the selected entry to reveal its saved location in Finder. Use the name-edit control when a clearer file name is needed, and keep the original before preparing sharing or backup copies.
