Family PCs, dorm computers, front-desk workstations, and shared office laptops often contain personal photos, videos, scanned IDs, family albums, or private work screenshots. Even when nobody means harm, those folders can appear in File Explorer, recent locations, thumbnails, or Windows search. GiliSoft File Lock Pro helps hide and lock selected photo folders on shared Windows computers.
Private photo folders are often easy to recognize by file names, folder previews, thumbnails, and search terms. Moving them deeper into the drive may reduce casual browsing, but it does not create a clear protection workflow when other people use the same computer.
1. Use hide mode when the photo folder should not appear during normal browsing or casual search.
2. Add folder locking when opening the photos should require password-based access.
3. Use write protection when photos can be viewed but should not be renamed, moved, deleted, or overwritten.
4. Apply protection to selected folders on local disks, USB drives, or external hard drives.
